PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what information Storyboard Studio ("we," "us," "the Service") collects when you use storyboardstudio.in, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account information: When you sign up, we collect whatever you provide through your chosen sign-in method — email address and password, your Google account's name/email/profile photo, or your phone number for SMS verification. You can add a first and last name afterward.
Project content: Everything you put into a storyboard — shot images, cover images, dialogue and background audio, script excerpts, scene and camera details, cast & crew information, call sheets, and location notes. Images and audio you upload are stored as part of your project data.
Collaboration data: If you invite someone to a project, we store the email address or phone number you invited, and that person's role (viewer or editor). If someone invites you, the same applies in reverse.
Payment information: We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment processors, Razorpay and Cashfree, who are PCI-DSS compliant. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with your plan and billing cycle.
Usage information: Basic technical information needed to operate the Service — sign-in timestamps, and error logs if something goes wrong, so we can fix it.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to: provide and maintain the Service; process your subscription payments and apply the correct plan to your account; let you collaborate with others on projects you choose to share; respond to support requests sent to support@storyboardstudio.in; and detect and prevent abuse of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or ad networks on this site.
3. AI FEATURES
Some features — Script Lab's AI-assisted script classification, and AI image generation for shots — send the text or prompt you provide to Google's Gemini API for processing. That content (script excerpts, notes, and generated prompts) is transmitted to Google for the sole purpose of producing the result you requested (classified script lines, or a generated storyboard image). We do not control how Google processes data sent to its API beyond what's described in Google's own terms for the Gemini API. If you'd rather not send a shot's script content to an external AI service, you can use Script Lab's manual (rule-based) classification instead, or upload your own images rather than generating them — both are fully supported alternatives that never leave our servers.
4. PAYMENT PROCESSING
Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay and/or Cashfree, depending on what's offered at checkout. When you pay, you're providing your payment details directly to that processor, not to us — please refer to Razorpay's and Cashfree's own privacy policies for how they handle payment data. We store only the resulting subscription status (plan, billing cycle, and renewal/expiry dates) needed to grant you access to Pro features.
5. WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH
Your project content is visible to anyone you explicitly invite as a collaborator on that project, at the role you choose (viewer or editor). We also share information with the service providers that make the Service work: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, and database), Google's Gemini API (for the AI features described above, only when you use them), and Razorpay/Cashfree (for payment processing). We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Storyboard Studio, our users, or the public.
6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your own account at any time from Account settings inside the app — this immediately and irreversibly deletes every project you own, removes you from any project you collaborate on, and closes your login. This cannot be undone and there is no recovery period, so we recommend exporting anything you want to keep first. If you'd rather have us delete your account on your behalf, email support@storyboardstudio.in from the address on file.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update your name and manage sign-in methods directly in Account settings, and delete your account entirely as described above. For anything else, contact us at support@storyboardstudio.in.
8. SECURITY
We rely on Google Firebase's infrastructure and security practices (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases) to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Storyboard Studio is intended for professional and hobbyist filmmakers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember a few preferences (like whether device captures are saved locally). We don't use third-party tracking cookies for advertising.
11. INTERNATIONAL USERS
Storyboard Studio is operated from India and our infrastructure and payment processors are India-based. If you use the Service from outside India, your information will be processed in India and other countries where our service providers (including Google Firebase) operate.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
